It has now been almost a year since Meghan and Harry decided to emancipate themselves from the royal family. It was January 8, 2020 to be precise and they announced their decision via the instagram account. More modern than them in the royal family? There's no ! And we imagine how complicated it was for them (especially for Meghan who had never lived like this before) to comply with the protocol. But they are now rid of it! Dress protocol
When you are part of the royal class, there is a very strict protocol to follow when it comes to clothing. Remember as soon as Meghan made a small dismissal all the English press fell on her. Well that is now ancient history! Harry and Meghan can now wear whatever they want.
Travel outfit
Yes yes you read that correctly, the members of the royal family must always travel with a black outfit in their travels in case of sudden death or they have to attend a funeral. Now Meghan and Harry can travel light!
Autographs
Harry and Meghan Markle can now sign autographs. Yes, members of the royal family do not have the right to do so! Just like they are also not allowed to take selfies with their fans.
Affection
This is a rule that Harry and Meghan did not respect so much but there at least they are rid of it! Indeed, they now have the right to be affectionate with their fans. They can also accept gifts because normally it is Queen Elizabeth who decides who keeps which gift!
Political correctness
Queen Elizabeth advocates political correctness by title, but it is not a rule that Meghan and Harry have really respected. Indeed, they had broken protocol during the documentary on their royal tour in Africa where they had been extremely honest.
Leave the table
If a Royal Member has a craving for a meal, they should say "Excuse me" and leave the table. Now Harry and Meghan can say: "I'm coming back I'm going to the bathroom!".
Financially speaking
You've probably heard of it before, but Meghan and Harry are now financially independent. Indeed, they can earn their own income since they will no longer receive funds from UK taxpayers. Moreover, they are already on the spot since they signed a multi-year agreement to produce content exclusively on Netflix, one of their first projects since they left their royal duties in January.
Monopoly
Be aware that Monopoly is forbidden in the royal household because it can turn out to be too vicious! Well at least now Harry and Meghan can have some leisurely board game nights.
