Last week, we asked "What do you consider plus sized?" and the answers came pouring in, but none of them pointed to Kim Kardashian as an example.
Perez Hilton reports that when Kim saw a recent issue of a glossy celebrity weekly mag, she was more than a little upset that they'd put her face next to the announcement of Forever 21's new plus size clothing line. Kim took to her blog to say, "I am a huge fan of Forever 21 and I'm very happy they have expanded their line to include a plus-size range, but I am not in that size category and this article makes it sound like I am! I am a curvy girl and I love my curves, but curvy and plus-sized are two very different things. I work really hard to maintain my curves while staying slim and healthy, so to be classed as a "fuller-figured woman" of extra large proportions is a little offensive. For the record, I am a size 2, not 2XL."
As you may expect, there are tons of comments on all sides of this scenario. Head over to Kim's blog now to check it out, then let us know how you weigh in. Do you think Kim was right to take offense at being called "plus size"? Do you think she actually is plus size? Or is the whole focus on labels just plain silly to begin with? Discuss.
