8 Keanu Reeves facts that prove why he's one of the nicest men in Hollywood
It seems fans can't get enough of “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum” star Keanu Reeves, and it may not be due to more than 30 years of film starring and his celebrity status. His personality and his generosity of time and money, as well as his accomplishments as an actor, inspired people to sign a petition to name him Time magazine's Person of the Year.
A fan, named Jackson Beem, started a petition in order to get support so that his hero would be Time's Person of the Year. He wrote, “Keanu is the most upright person there is, make him the person of the year! Keanu has secretly donated millions of his proceeds to children's hospitals and other charities, and has done amazing things for people in public while he asks for nothing in return. "
As of June 25, there were over 75,000 signatories for Keanu to be Time's pick for 2019.
Over the years, his generous actions gave his friends and fans many reasons to love him and consider him the "nicest man" in Hollywood.

1. he is a celebrity who is humble and stays true to himself
A Reddit user in 2012 commented on an episode of “The Most Nice Celebrity Ever Met” about an encounter with Keanu Reeves. He wrote: “He was in the cafeteria and I had nowhere to sit. One man said, 'Please come with me.' I sat down and realized it was him and we talked about comics for about 30 minutes. As normal as it can be ”.
Not only that, the star once gave up his seat in the crowded New York subway to another passenger with a heavy bag, according to Business Insider.
2. He pursued a career very close to his heart, overcoming previous setbacks and formed a band with a stranger, even though he was growing up in Hollywood.
Rob Mailhouse met Keanu when the actor was starting out in Hollywood. It was the 90's and Keanu was back in his “Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure” days.
Rob ran into Keanu at a Los Angeles supermarket. Rob was wearing a Detroit Red Wings jersey at the time, and Keanu came over and asked if he played hockey. He said so, according to VICE.
Keanu asked him if he could play goalie in his hockey game. Soon Rob and Keanu started playing music together and eventually formed the band “Dogstar”. Keanu kept the band even when he was at the peak of his fame, Ranker reported.
3. Help strangers in trouble
A Reddit user once shared a story of his helpful nature so natural to him. She wrote: “A friend told me that she was once stranded on the side of a highway outside of Los Angeles when her car broke down. She didn't have a cell phone (that was before most people had cell phones) and there was no way to ask for help. Then a cute black Porsche pulls up and as you can guess it was Keanu. He tried to help her start the car and when it didn't work, he called AAA for her. When they towed her car, he offered to drive her to her house, which she accepted. He drove about 50 miles outside of her destination just to get her home. "
4. She is aware of her celebrity status, but she never takes advantage of it
Keanu was once seen waiting patiently in the rain at the closing party for his movie "Daughter of God." Apparently, the doorman did not recognize him nor did the actor say who he was. According to an article in the Daily Mail in 2014, the "star missed the first 20 minutes of his own evening in New York."
5. A generous and helpful philanthropist
He doesn't need to be recognized for his charity, as evidenced by the revelation that he has secretly funded children's hospitals. According to Snopes, in 2009 he told the Ladies' Home Journal: “I have a private foundation that has been running for five or six years and that helps a couple of children's hospitals and cancer research. I don't like linking my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does ”.
