Jennifer Lawrence, on her fiancé: "As soon as I met him I knew I wanted to marry him"
The actress, who assures that she is "too lazy" to be overwhelmed by her wedding, admits that what she happened to him with Cooke Maroney was love at first sight
Jennifer Lawrence knew that her boyfriend and current fiancé, Cooke Maroney, was the man of her life from the first day she met him. This has been assured by the actress, who does not usually talk about her private life, in an interview with Catt Sadler for the Naked podcast, broadcast last Thursday. “He is the best person I have ever met. I know he sounds really stupid, but he is. I am very honored to become Mrs. Maroney, ”she reveals.
Lawrence, 28, and Maroney, 34, met last year when one of the actress's best friends, Laura Simpson, introduced them. Since then they have not separated and it was last February when it was learned that the protagonist of The Hunger Games had become engaged to the prestigious gallery owner. Something that caught even the actress herself by surprise. “It was a moment in my life where I was not located, I did not consider myself ready to get married.
But it was meeting Cooke and I already wanted to marry him. We both wanted to fully commit. He's my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever, ”explains Lawrence. "You find your favorite person on the planet and you say, 'He can't go away.' Fortunately, there is paperwork for these things, ”she adds humorously.
When asked about her wedding, of which the date and place are unknown, the interpreter assures that everything has been "very easy." “I haven't gotten neurotic at all planning the wedding. I think I'm too lazy for that. I saw a dress that I liked and said, "That's the one I want!" I didn't search much. And with the place where I am going to celebrate it the same. I saw it, I loved it and I booked it, ”she says, without revealing any more details.
The same did not happen, however, with her bachelorette party. "At first I didn't want to say goodbye, but at the last minute I realized that I did," explains the actress. “But of course, no one was available to celebrate because I decided too late and started crying without knowing why. She didn't know she wanted so badly to have a bachelorette party. I felt pathetic. Luckily my future husband told me there was no reason for it, ”she says. Finally, the bride had the celebration of her, although more than a usual bachelorette party it was an engagement party. On May 11 and 12, the couple decided to reunite their family and friends, among whom was the actress Emma Stone, and they enjoyed a weekend together in New York.
The four-time Oscar-nominee and one-time winner of the statuette - for The Bright Side of Things, in 2013 - decided to take a break from Hollywood last year to focus on herself, something she says has done her very well. . “This last year has been very healthy and satisfying, because I thought that if I didn't work I was going to get depressed, and it wasn't like that. I found other interests and really got to the bottom of the things that I am really passionate about that had nothing to do with acting. I feel like I've known myself, ”she says.
Now, after almost a year away from acting, Jennifer Lawrence has returned stronger than ever professionally, with several blockbusters such as X-Men: Dark Phoenix and the Bad Blood series, as well as personally: “It was great. I met someone, fell in love and started a new life in New York. "
