Meghan Markle will have to follow these rules (although it seems incredible to us)

Being Duchess of Sussex comes with a set of rules and regulations. Some very absurd, yes, but Meghan Markle will have to abide by them.

After a dream royal wedding, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now the Dukes of Sussex and, as such, they must fulfill a series of responsibilities. Being part of royalty entails a series of rules and regulations that must be observed and in the case of Meghan Markle it was not going to be less. Although her entry into the British Royal House has been a real revolution, she must renounce Markle a series of privileges or freedoms that she enjoyed as a commoner.

The legend that the British Royal House has strict traditions and rules is nothing new. And not only referring to the clothing or the image of its members but to the schedules, customs or prohibitions of palace doors to the inside.

Of course, many of them are assumptions or rules of protocol that, although the Queen and some of her members continue to comply, it does not imply that Meghan Markle is going to follow them to the letter. Can you imagine the new Duchess of Sussex meeting all these rules? It is hard for us, really, but here are some of the strictest (or eccentric, depending on how you look at it) norms, rules and customs of the British Royal House:

1. Do not wear black nails

Neither of any dark color, of course. It is no coincidence that Meghan Markle chose Essie's nude shade on her wedding day (which is also Queen Elizabeth's favorite). And, according to an American magazine, all members of the Royal Family are strictly forbidden to wear nails in dark colors.

2. Forbidden to play Monopoly

At least, within the facilities of the Royal House. According to the Reader's Digest, in 2008 the Duke of York received the game of Monopoly as a gift. However, he had to respond with a missive: "We can't play Monopoly at home. It's too vicious." It seems that Meghan Markle will have to look for other entertainment (and no, it can't be the EuroMillion either).

3. You will not sleep before the Queen

We just hope Meghan Markle isn't sleeping too early because, in that case, she looks like she's going to have a lot of fatigue every night. Apparently it's rude to go to sleep before the Queen (if you live in her house, of course), so Meghan will have to wait until the Queen goes to bed with her. For her peace of mind, we will say that she does not have a reputation for staying up late.

4. No autographs

The thing about social networks, we had it assumed. Meghan Markle will no longer be an Instagram star and it is something we have to live with: we will never appear in her stories. But don't you ask for an autograph either? It seems not; in fact, this is included in the official website of the Royal Household as one of its official regulations.

5. Mourning clothes ALWAYS in the suitcase

Meghan, never forget: if you go on a trip, don't wait to pack at the last minute. There is something you can never forget, mourning clothes. Does it seem absurd? It is not. It is a preventive rule in case someone dies and they have to return unexpectedly. Upon arrival in Windsor, all the cameras will be waiting for you and it is best to be dressed appropriately.

6. We better forget about seafood

At least, during his first days in the Palace (you know, to make a good impression). This is not a rule of the Royal House but rather a family tradition to avoid food poisoning. It is said that almost no member of the royal family complies, although the Queen does it rigorously. We don't know what Meghan will do.

7. It is forbidden to wear wedges

The last (of all we have found, of course, because we assume there will be hundreds) is that Meghan will not be able to wear wedges. That is, either flats or heels, but nothing in the middle. How could we survive without them? We don't know, but Meghan Markle will have to. Or not...
