Prince William accomplice with his father Charles: how their relationship has evolved since Harry left
Closer than ever. After Prince Harry's departure for Canada, the relationship between Charles and William seems stronger than ever. The two men were notably very complicit on February 11, during an outing in Leicestershire.
Crises tear as much as they bring people together. And it is not the British monarchy that will say the opposite. Since the departure of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for Canada, the British royal family has displayed a united front. The original "Fab Four" being permanently dissolved, Kate Middleton and William have found new allies with Camilla Parker-Bowles and Prince Charles. Already close, the future monarchs continue to stick together. A situation which would have allowed the rapprochement between the Duke of Cambridge and his father, as comments Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of the magazine Majesty, quoted by Ok! Magazine and cover by the Daily Mail.
This great complicity appeared in particular on February 11, during the visit to the medical rehabilitation center, in Leicestershire. Father and son displayed undisguised closeness. We could see in one of the pictures of the event Prince Charles massaging William's shoulders. For journalist Ingrid Seward, this outing is proof of the closer ties between the two men, after Harry's departure. "Charles has supported William a lot in recent weeks because he has so much to deal with", analyzes the royal observer.
Same sense of humor
The son of Elizabeth II, who would tend to multiply the dates, "is now making a real effort to book dates with William", continues the editor of Majesty. The Prince of Wales is also reportedly trying to spend more time with his grandchildren George, Charlotte, and Louis. Above all, the release of Leicestershire proved that father and son have the same sense of humor. A renewed agreement which could well irritate Prince Harry, the latter continuing to nourish a real susceptibility on everything relating to his older brother.
The complicity also seems contagious. During the visit of Leicestershire, Kate Middleton was indeed close to her stepfather, with whom she laughed a lot. These relations in good shape are made to reassure the queen, especially after the announcement of the divorce of her grandson Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn Kelly. The couple formed by Kate and William is thus a real pillar in this royal family on the verge of implosion. "If (Elizabeth II) didn't have them, I think she would be like, 'God damn it, after more than 70 years on the throne, all for nothing,'" comments Ingrid Seward. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the “annus horribilis” does not reach the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
