Royal expert predicts first snap of baby Lilibet this week but fans may be disappointed
Lilibet Diana , could be seen for the first time this week royal reporter Camilla Tominey has predicted but warned fans could be disappointed as they may only get a glance of the newborn.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter Lilibet "Lili" Diana on Friday (June 4). Lili was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California weighing in at 7lb 11oz. On Monday’s episode of This Morning, royal commentator Camilla Tominey predicted the first photograph would be this week but explained Lilibet's face might not be shown.
On Monday’s episode of This Morning, presenter Holly Willoughby asked of the new baby: “Do you think we will see a photograph of her anytime soon?
“Or do you think they’ll treat things a bit differently, do it their way and keep her more private this time?”
“Well if we do see a photo this time I wouldn’t hold your breath because if you remember when Archie was born we got a photograph but it was of his little foot,” Camilla replied.
She continued: “Therefore if you’re thinking you’re going to get a smiley baby face photo, that may be some weeks coming.
“I would be surprised if they didn’t share some imagery this week thought, not least because they’re so into social media and they are into their kind of nice black and white Instagram snaps.
“So, perhaps there will be something, but so far nothing,” Camilla added.
This Morning fans took to Twitter to comment on the royal baby news, with many commenting on the name choice.
One viewer wrote: “I think it’s lovely that Harry and Meghan have called the baby Lilibet. Let’s face it, whatever they’d called haters we’re gonna hate #ThisMorning"
Another agreed, saying: “I think Lilibet is a lovely name tbh #thismorning."
Harry and Meghan yesterday announced Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday morning (June 4) in a hospital in Santa Barbara, California.
In a statement on the couple’s website, they revealed both mother and child are healthy and well.
Harry and Meghan’s statement also revealed they named their daughter Lilibet after the Queen, the baby's great-grandmother.
Lilibet is the nickname of the Queen, which was previously used by her parents and Prince Phillip.
Similarly the new baby’s middle name, Diana, is in honour of her "beloved late grandmother," the Princess of Wales, the statement said.
The Royal Family have already sent well wishes to Meghan and Harry following the birth of their daughter.
The family congratulated the couple in a statement posted on the Royal Family's Twitter account.
The statement read: “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana!
“The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news,” it said.
“Lilibet is Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild,” the statement added.
