Trump jets out of Florida to spend the summer at his Bedminster golf course in New Jersey to escape the heat and plan 2024 election after saying Mother's Day goodbye to Melania and Barron at Mar-a-Lago
Former President Donald Trump spent Mother's Day having Sunday brunch with his wife Melania and youngest son Barron - before heading off to spend the summer in New Jersey, according to a report.
In photos shared on social media, Trump was seen waving to supporters during a final brunch at his Mar-a-Lago resort with Melania, 51, and their son Barron, 15.
The former first lady wore a polka dot dress, while her son matched his father in a suit.
Hours later, the former president was photographed by the Daily Mail boarding a Cessna registered at one of his companies as he left Florida for his golf club in Bedminster, NJ .
Helpers were seen carrying a number of boxes on the plane, consistent with previous reports that Trump was planning to move his political and fundraising operations to Bedminster for the summer.
Melania and Barron were not seen traveling with him and it was not immediately clear whether they were planning to join him in New Jersey, the Mail said.
However, a source told the outlet that "the main house in Mar-a-Lago will close until the fall and the Trumps will be leaving to spend the summer at their Bedminster club," suggesting his family will join him in at some point.
Trump's daughter Ivanka, 39, and her husband Jared Kushner, 40, have a property in the resort town of Bedminster that they are renovating, which suggests they also plan to there spend more time.
The change of seasonal residence is nothing new for the former president.
"That's what he did for 20 years: spend the winter in Florida, then go back north," Larry Casey, a Republican from Florida, previously told the Daily Mail.
