Trump's blog closes a month after its launch
Former US President Donald Trump's blog, launched last month after major social media platforms vetoed the Republican, was removed from its website.
Jason Miller, a Trump adviser, said Wednesday that the page, which was called "From the Desk of Donald J. Trump", will not return.
"It was simply to support the general efforts that we have and are working on," Miller said in an email to Reuters.
Trump's team has spent months studying plans for the former president to launch a social media platform, but few details have been released.
"I hope to have more information on the broad efforts soon, but I don't have an accurate knowledge of the time," Miller said.
The blog, which was billed as a site to "speak freely and safely", was a one-way communication medium that contained Trump posts, which could be "liked" and shared on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. in which the ex-president is still blocked.
Trump's accounts were downgraded by a series of social media platforms following the Jan.6 assault on the United States Capitol by supporters of the Republican.
Twitter Inc, which Trump used frequently, declared that his veto of Trump is permanent, even if he were to run for president again. Before being blocked, the businessman-turned-politician had more than 88 million followers.
Facebook Inc's independent oversight committee determined that the company was correct in suspending Trump, but questioned its indefinite nature. In May, the committee gave Facebook six months to establish a proportionate response to the case.
Alphabet Inc's YouTube said it will reestablish Trump's channel when it decides the risk of violence has dropped.
