Britney Spears is engaged to her boyfriend
Pop star Britney Spears is engaged to her boyfriend Jason Trawick, various media outlets announced on Friday, after the singer posted a message on Twitter about having received "the gift" she longed for.
The television program "Access Hollywood" said that the host Billy Bush contacted Trawick by text message and that the boyfriend confirmed the news.
"Yes, we are committed," Trawick told Bush as quoted by the program.
Celebrity magazine Us Weekly also reported the engagement citing an anonymous source and said Trawick asked Spears the question Thursday at a private dinner for her 40th birthday.
Spears, 30, added material to her reports with her tweet on Friday that said “My God, Jason surprised me last night with the gift I was waiting for. Can't wait to show you! Very, very, very excited !!!! ”.
A spokesperson for Spears was not immediately available to comment on the reports.
The “Toxic” singer has dated her former agent Trawick of hers since May 2010, after a turbulent years in her professional and personal life in which she lost custody of her children and was forced to enter rehab.
Spears was married for two years to dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two children.
The singer also spontaneously married her childhood friend Jason Alexander during a trip to Las Vegas in 2004. That marriage lasted 55 hours, until the singer annulled the union.
