INAUGURATION OF THE STATUE OF DIANA: PRINCE CHARLES ABSENT?
Lady Diana would have celebrated her 60th birthday this year. On this occasion, Princes William and Harry will unveil a statue of their mother on July 1 in the gardens of Kensington Palace. Much like their wives, their father, Prince Charles, is not expected to attend the ceremony.
In a press release dated June 25, Kensington Palace said that the two brothers would only be joined by their mother's close family, without any other member of the British Crown.
Prince Charles would have chosen not to attend so as not to "wake up old wounds" and not to bring to the surface memories "happy, sad and regrettable", reports a source of the DailyMail.
“Since Diana's death, Prince Charles has found it best to keep his memories to himself and let his sons take care of them. "
Another source previously told The Sun: 'Charles has made it clear that he will not be there as he is on his way to Scotland. There is no meeting scheduled between the three of them. Charles will let the boys take care of it. "

Cold with Prince Harry since the latter went into exile in the United States, and even more since his shattering revelations to Oprah Winfrey, Prince Charles should therefore not take advantage of this special moment to get closer to his son .
THE TENSION BETWEEN THE TWO BROTHERS IS PALPABLE
Two months after the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Harry is back in the United Kingdom.
Currently in quarantine at his Frogmore property after flying from his home in California, he is said to be expected to visit his mother's statue once before the official dedication, reports The Telegraph.
This is also what Prince William has planned to do, who wants to enjoy a moment of contemplation away from the cameras, surrounded by his wife and their children.
When the inauguration time comes, Harry and William, whose relationship could not be more heated, are expected to give separate speeches. The two brothers will thank sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley for creating the statue in honor of their mother which they themselves commissioned in 2017, and will of course pay tribute to their "princess of hearts". Will they then remember the promise they made to her together, as biographer Robert Lacey quotes in his book Battle of Brothers: "to always be each other's best friends"?
