Ivanka Trump caught by her big lies
Ivanka Trump will have to explain herself on a false declaration made to justice. In the case of Donald Trump's nomination committee, she would have voluntarily lied about several elements, in order to protect her father?
Bad publicity for Ivanka Trump! The adored daughter of the former president of the United States finds herself at the heart of a scandal revealed by the site Mother Jones. In 2020, Washington DC Attorney General Karl Racine called for an investigation into Donald Trump's nomination committee. He suspected that charitable funds had been misappropriated to enrich the family.
“The groundbreaking committee, a nonprofit, coordinated with the Trump family to settle an overpayment for event space at the Trump International Hotel,” the attorney general said. And to continue: "The committee also inappropriately used nonprofit funds to organize a private party for the Trump family to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars." If the fraud is confirmed, Karl Racine simply wants the money to be donated to the association.
And that's where it all gets tough. During a deposition made on December 1 - in which she swore to tell the truth - Ivanka Trump assured that she had not been involved in the organization of this small party. However, the site reveals that it was all wrong. According to the emails that could be consulted, the former adviser to the former US president was asked to make various decisions for this celebration, and even had a say on the menus. A lie that therefore does not pass.
Trump family accustomed to misrepresentation
This is not the first time that the Trumps have been pinned down and have to speak out about a controversy. Donald Trump has had to deal with multiple lies, whether in his politics or even in the midst of a health crisis about the coronavirus. The Trump family is struggling with the depositions. Donald Trump Jr. lied the same way his father and sister did. Last February, Donald's eldest son provided false testimony in court about this opening night case.
