Jennifer Lawrence talks about her nude photos for the first time

After Jennifer Lawrence nude photos were leaked a few weeks ago as part of a massive theft of private celebrity information, the actress stayed out of the spotlight until now. In an interview with Vanity Fair she spoke of how she felt after such an attack on her privacy.

“Just because I'm a public figure, just because I'm an actress, doesn't mean I asked for this to happen. It does not mean that it comes with the territory ”. The actress commented for the magazine and explained. “It is my body and it should be my decision, the fact that it is not is absolutely grotesque. I can't believe we live in this world. "

Lawrence clarified that what happened is not a scandal, it is a sex crime. “It's rape, it's disgusting. The law needs to change, and we need to change. That is why these sites are responsible. The simple fact that someone can be exploited and raped, and that the first thing someone thinks about is making a profit is beyond me ”.

But it's not just internet sites that are responsible for perpetuating this problem. “Anyone who sees those photos is perpetuating the sexual offense. They should feel ashamed. Even people I know and love tell me, 'oh yeah, I saw the photos.' I don't want to get angry but at the same time I'm thinking that I didn't give them permission to see my naked body ”.

And for all the people who think it's all their fault for taking the photos? Jennifer has nothing to apologize for. “Every time I tried to write something [about the photos] it made me cry or angry. I started to write an apology, but I have nothing to apologize for. I was in a healthy, loving and great relationship for four years. It was long distance, and your boyfriend is going to watch pornography or he is going to watch you. "

The hardest thing for her was having to tell her family. “When I had to call my dad to tell him what had happened… I don't care how much they pay me for 'The Hunger Games', I promise that anyone who can decide between having that money or calling their dad to tell him that something like this has happened… it's not worth it ”. And she joked, "Luckily I was playing golf so I was in a good mood."
