Kate Winslet to honeymoon in space
The actress and her now husband Ned Rock n Roll will be two hours off the ground and of course this wedding gift is courtesy of Ned's uncle, British mogul Sir Richard Branson.
After an intimate ceremony earlier this month, Kate Winslet and her new husband, Ned RocknRoll, have decided to celebrate her union with a trip to space that will last two hours. According to The Sun newspaper, the original gift is provided by Ned's uncle, the British magnate Sir Richard Branson. Ned works with his uncle at Virgin Galactic, a space travel company that will offer commercial flights around Earth starting next year.
Although for Kate and her husband the gift has been free, for the rest of the mortals the trip could cost up to $ 200,000, although some actors such as Ashton Kutcher and Russell Brand have already booked their tickets.
Like them, the couple will travel 96 kilometers above the Earth, from where they can see the profile of the planet and experience weightlessness. "She wants to go to space. She would not say that she wants a one-way trip to Mars, but she is determined to go to space," Richard recounted. The creator of this astronomical gift had a lot to do with his nephew's union with the actress, as the two met on Richard's private island, Necker Island, in August 2011. The businessman is especially grateful to Kate, as who saved the life of his 90-year-old mother when lightning struck her house. The interpreter helped her leave her home and led her to safety.
After an intimate ceremony in which they have sealed her commitment with alliances valued at 400 thousand dollars, the actress will celebrate her link with Ned again on that same island next year to celebrate it with her friends and family. "They are going to have a late celebration; everyone is very happy and excited for them," revealed a source.
