Lilibet Diana, because Meghan Markle used a different name on her daughter's birth certificate

Between the birth of the couple's first child, Archie, and that of little Lili, many things have changed: the Sussexes have moved to the United States and given up their status as senior members of the English royal family. The birth certificates of the two children, when compared, show some differences.

Between the birth of the eldest son Archie and that of little Lilibet Diana, many things have changed in the life of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: the removal from the royal family, the move to California, the renunciation of the status of elderly members of the royal family. Many of these upheavals are evident from a simple document: Lilibet's birth certificate. Both Meghan Markle and Harry have filled in the fields in different ways for the first and second child (yet they are always the same) but with a very specific reason.

Names changed on the birth certificate

Gossip blog TMZ has obtained and published a copy of Lilibet Diana's birth certificate, in which it is clearly seen that Meghan has renounced the use of the noble title, using her first name: Rachel Meghan Markle. This marks a notable change of pace: Archie's birth certificate, on May 17, 2019, bears the signature of "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex". The Sun suggested that in fact the document had been modified at a later time, perhaps under pressure from the Palace, but Buckingham Palace has always denied this hypothesis.

Her husband Harry, on the other hand, filled out little Lili's birth certificate as "His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex", in a slightly different way from the English document drawn up at Archie's birth: "His Royal Highness Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex ". Here things get more complicated, because it's not at all clear whether, after stepping back from the status of a senior member of the royal family, Harry can still use his title on an official document. The prince is now in London for the inauguration of the statue dedicated to his mother Diana and on his agenda there is a breakfast with Queen Elizabeth: a little reproach awaiting him?
