No more KFC and Big Macs: this is what Donald Trump eats on board Air Force One
The US President is trying a new healthier diet
Donald Trump’s diet has been a far cry from what you might expect of a billionaire politician.
Instead of opting for extravagant meals and high-end restaurants, Trump has famously preferred to tuck into KFC, McDonald’s and pizza – the three major food groups.
He is reported to drink 12 cans of Diet Coke a day, while shunning tea, coffee and alcohol.
However according to Piers Morgan, who climbed aboard Air Force One to interview the US President during his British visit, this has recently all changed.
What does Trump eat on board Air Force One?
Instead of calorie heavy fast food, President Trump is opting for healthy food options since becoming the most powerful person in the world 20 months ago.
On the day the Good Morning Britain presenter visited, the presidential menu indicated that Trump is on something of a diet.
Trump’s menu:
Cucumber Thai salad, a medley of cucumbers, radishes, spicy red chillis, chopped peanuts, basil, cilantro and mint, tossed in a homemade vinaigrette.
Thai baked salmon fillet, baked in sweet chilli sauce over a bed of jasmine rice.
Tarte lemon bar, topped with crunchy shortbread crumbles.
The menu also included “a choice of beverage”, which is assumed to mean Diet Coke as far as the president is concerned.
Trump hasn’t completely abandoned sweat treats, though.
According to Morgan, there was basket containing personalised M&Ms, complete with the president’s signature on the box.

Morgan wrote in the Mail on Sunday that he was handed a large bag of the M&Ms and a dozen boxes of Air Force One matchboxes as a gift.
