The bronze statue depicts Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

The statue shows Diana surrounded by three children, which Kensington Palace says represents the "universality and generational impact" of her work.

"Today, on what will be our mother's 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character," they said.

"Qualities that make him a force for good around the world, changing many lives for the better," he continued, quoted by Thoughts-Cirebon.com from Reuters.

They expressed every day wishing that their mother was still with them, and that their wish was for the statue to become a symbol of life and heritage.

William and Harry performed with their mother's brother, Charles Spencer.

Also with his sisters, Sarah Mc Corquodale and Jane Fellowes.

Together they attended a small private event at Sunken Garden, one of Princess Diana's favorite places.

The statue is bluish-green in color and was designed by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.

William's office said they wanted the statue to reflect its positive impact in the UK and globally.

Also in order to help future generations understand the importance of place in history.

Underneath the statue is a pedestal bearing Diana's name and the date it was opened.

While in front there is a paving stone engraved with extracts inspired by the poem "The Measure of A Man".
