Scarlett Johansson admits to being constantly rejected in her career
The actress admits to having always been considered the second option before landing a role.
Hollywood hasn't always been easy with Scarlett Johansson. The Oscar-nominated actress began her career at a young age, playing small preteen roles in films like Home Alone 3 and The Horse Whisperer. In a recent interview, the actress reveals that for a long time, especially in her youth, she was often rejected.
One of the opportunities Scarlett almost missed is her now iconic role as Black Widow in Marvel movies. Emily Blunt was originally chosen to play the character, but the British actress had to leave the project due to a schedule that didn't fit with another movie she was going to shoot.
Scarlett Johansson says being a part of the Avengers saga has changed her life. “The best call you can get is, after you've been turned down for a role, one that tells you you've finally gotten it,” says Johansson. "You like it more. Basically I made my career out of being second option."
