It takes more than a burning rag to define Meghan Markle's relationship with her father, Thomas Markle. While the father-daughter bond seemed strong in the early days of her relationship with Prince Harry, the Suits portrayal of Rachel Zane quickly demolished the pattern of this beautiful family her fans imagined. While geographic distance has taken them far apart without much of their relationship suffering, learning that her father had orchestrated a fake paparazzade to make money off her has put Meghan Markle on her own. War is then declared between the Duchess and her father. The latter did not even attend the wedding. Officially, the American was being held back across the Atlantic for health reasons, unofficially he might not even have had the right to set foot on British soil to hope to catch a glimpse of the event.
