Kate Middleton and Prince William: the decision that proves they are preparing to ascend the throne
Prince William and Kate Middleton will one day ascend the throne of the United Kingdom. To be ready at any time, the couple seems to have made a radical decision in the eyes of a royal expert.
They are young, they are beautiful, and they will one day be King and Queen Consort of the United Kingdom. Since their marriage on April 29, 2011, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton know that their destiny will be very different from that of ordinary people. One day they will ascend the throne of England. For now, Queen Elizabeth II is still well established, after more than 69 years of reign. On his death, it will be Prince Charles' turn to become king. A role for which he has been preparing for 72 years.
And when Camilla Parker Bowles’s husband passes the gun to the left, it will be Prince William who takes over. But just because this day has not yet arrived does not mean that the Duke of Cambridge does not already fulfill official missions! Lord High Commissioner of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the father of George, Charlotte and Louis regularly replaces his grandmother at official events. But he also allows himself small pleasures, like most recently when he attended the Euro 2021 final between England and Italy.
The Isles of Scilly, a symbolic destination
But Prince William and his wife are like everyone else: they need a vacation! It must be said that the year 2021 was not an easy one for the British royal family, which in addition to the Covid-19, suffered from the death of Prince Philip and the many catastrophic statements of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. So this summer travel to the Isles of Scilly in Cornwall in southwest England for the Cambridge family. As in 2020, Prince William and Kate Middleton have decided to treat themselves to a bowl of fresh air in a destination that the future King of England knows very well. He discovered it in 1989 with his brother Harry, while staying with their parents. A way for him to make a pilgrimage to a place dear to his eyes, but also to create a tradition with his children.
"They turn into king and queen"
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, this destination is not risky. This would actually allow Prince William and his wife to fully prepare for their future role. The goal for the couple? Spend “traditional” stays at their family home in Anmer Hall, in Norfolk and across the country, instead of vacationing overseas. A perfect way for the couple to unwind, while being able to honor events. “While in the past we have seen the couple enjoy more lavish ski vacations or sunnier climates, they took a more traditional royal approach and instead spent the holidays in royal residences in the UK”, the expert reported in the Mirror. While this is inevitably linked to the pandemic, this “home” vacation mostly highlights the fact that Kate and William are preparing to take the throne. “They turn into king and queen and therefore adopt more traditional practices,” says Katie Nicholl. A big upheaval in sight?
