Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton tension mocked in new cartoon The Prince
Bickering Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are shown in cartoon form in HBO's new series The Prince, made-up stories of Palace life seen through the eyes of eight-year-old Prince George
The focus of HBO's new series The Prince falls on Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton as the cartoon pokes fun at their supposed feud.
The new animated series - created by Family Guy writer Gary Janetti - is a satirical take on the inner workings of the royal family.
It features the imagined behind-the-scenes life, as seen through the eyes of eight-year-old Prince George.
The family are brutally mocked as some slam the show for taking aim at Prince William's eldest son, turning him into a sassy and ungrateful brat.
Now in the new scene, Meghan and Kate are seen in cartoon form squabbling over FaceTime.
Meghan asks: "Hi Kate, it's Meghan. I was just wondering if you'd heard from Harry?
Kate responds: "Meghan?" pretending to not know who she is.
"Meghan Markle, your sister-in-law," she replies, just as Prince Harry walks into the room.
"Never mind, he's here," the Duchess of Sussex tells her.
Kate replies: "Wonderful darling," as Prince William can be heard asking: "Who was that?"
"Meghan. Some t****r gave her our number..." before realising she was still on Facetime to Meghan.
"Oh s**t!" exclaims the cartoon future Queen as she hurries to end the call.
Meghan retorts: "Don't miss her," throwing the phone down onto the table.
An insider told US Weekly that the pair are now on better terms.
Their relationship had reportedly been strained after the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.
Meghan responded to reports that she had made Kate cry, insisting the opposite happened during a row over bridesmaids dresses.
"Tensions have eased between Meghan and Kate," the source said.
"Kate even sent Meghan a gift for the baby. They're in a better place and have exchanged texts since the birth of Lilbet."
The HBO cartoon has divided royal fans.
The oldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge should not be the subject of the show, and they say it's not right to mock a child.
Others pointed out their annoyance at Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner taking part in the series.
The actress - who shares a daughter with Joe Jonas - voices Princess Charlotte in the cartoon and many have slammed the British star for lending her voice to the show, following her being very vocal about protecting the privacy of children.
In May, she took to social media to blast paparazzi who try to take snaps of her daughter.
