Six times Leonardo DiCaprio really stepped into the shoes of his characters
The actor has given audiences more than one performance that deserved an Oscar. Here are six of his roles where he played real characters and his lives.
If you talk about good actors, it is difficult for Leonardo DiCaprio to be left off the list, whether it is from the last generation of performers or in the history of cinema. His talent has left a dent in many viewers, who despite the blunder of critics at the Oscars, continue to choose him as the favorite when it comes to acting.

JIM CARROL OF BASKETBALL DIARIES
The film has its translation into Spanish as Diario de un rebelde. It was one of Leo's first impactful roles and he was only 21 years old when he played it, in 1995. Carroll was an American writer, poet and musician, but it was his extreme life that made the autobiography a success.
Diary of a rebel tells of his life from 12 to 16 years old, which was characterized by his sexual experiences, his basketball career and his addiction to heroin. The film was of great impact and DiCaprio's performance is remembered as one of the best.
FRANK ABAGNALE JR., CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
A bit long, but definitely a movie that must be seen at least once in a lifetime. The film, in addition to being autobiographical, was classified as a criminal-drama comedy. In 2002, the actor stepped into the scammer's shoes under the direction of Steven Spielberg himself.
The film is based on the life of Frank Abagnale Jr., who managed to raise millions of dollars before his 19th birthday. Far from being honorable, but definitely a fraud genius, he posed as an airline pilot, doctor, and lawyer. His modus operandi, which included forging checks, so shocked the FBI that he ended up being recruited to help as an adviser in these crimes.
HOWARD HUGHES, FROM THE AVIATOR
It seems that Leo and madness get along, because this was one of the most surprising interpretations of him. Already a major name in the industry, the actor was able to put himself under the hands of Martin Scorsese, who directed the 2004 film. It even featured Cate Blanchett.
The story tells about the life of Howard Hughes, a pioneer in aviation. Between 1920 and 1940, he directed and produced his own Hollywood films, to the point that he ended up putting together his aerial prototypes, which he showed in the films. He himself piloted them in tests. But his fame, money and intelligence played against her and his fear of germs became a terrible obsession. The film ended up winning five Oscars, plus a nomination for Leo.
J. EDGAR HOOVER, DE J. EDGAR
In 2011, the actor looked unrecognizable to play J. Edgar Hoover, who was the first director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and held his position for 48 years. Leo went from being a wanted con man to the very director of the US intelligence organization. On this occasion, he was put under the direction of Clint Eastwood, another of Hollywood's great directors.

Without a doubt, one of the favorite roles of his fans of all his films. Leo put himself in the shoes of a New York stockbroker. The film tells of his life, rise on Wall Street and how he later refuses to cooperate in a case of securities fraud involving corruption on Wall Street, the commercial bank and even infiltration of the mafia.
His performance, again directed by Scorsese, was acclaimed by audiences and critics. For the first time the real complaints were heard about the absence of an Oscar for the actor.
HUGH GLASS, FROM THE RENAISSANCE
And finally in 2016, the role that gave him the precious statuette. For those who do not know, the actor got into the flesh in the life of Hugh Glass, in 1823. The story is semi-biographical, since the records we have are from a novel, but it tells the story of a guide that, after being fiercely attacked by a bear, is left to its fate by the group that accompanies him. This project actually started in 2001 and had Christian Bale as the lead, but the actor put it aside.
He was nominated for 12 Oscars and won three of them: Best Director, Best Actor for DiCaprio and Best Cinematography.
