Actor Tom Cruise to go to space on board the ISS to shoot a movie

Hollywood to conquer space? In October 2021, Tom Cruise will shoot a scene from his next film aboard the International Space Station (ISS). A historic first.

An incredible project, but already confirmed by NASA and Elon Musk. Tom Cruise, 58, will leave with director Doug Liman; with whom he has already shot several films (Edge of Tomorrow, Barry Seal ...). "This is not an abstract project, we are going to do this film! We would not talk about it if we had not already settled all the insurance stories," said the director according to France Info. Tom Cruise and Doug Liman will board a Space X capsule to shoot a scene from their next film in the International Space Station.

The Mission Impossible star, one of the few Hollywood actors to perform all his stunts himself, is therefore tackling a new challenge. He and his director should take off by next October for a period of ten days.

On the budget side, it would amount to nearly 200 million dollars (count at least 50 million per person to board a Space X capsule!) Still, the American actor will not cross paths with Thomas Pesquet: l he French astronaut ends his mission in August 2021.
