The actress has written a text in which she pays tribute to Marcheline, who died at 56 years of ovarian cancer

Marcheline Bertrand, the parent of Angelina Jolie, passed away in January 2007 at the age of 56 from ovarian cancer. The actress has spoken publicly about her with a text in which she recalled the difficult moments she went through after her death, when she was 31 years old and had already begun her relationship with Brad Pitt after filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. "When I look back I see how much his gait changed me. "Losing the love, hug and warmth of a mother is like being snatched from a protective blanket," explained the protagonist of Maleficent in honor of the Anglo-Saxon Mother's Day. "When my father had an affair it changed his life," she adds, recalling the separation of her parents in 1976, a year after Angelina's birth, in which Marcheline publicly cited Jon Voight's infidelity. "I had a double mastectomy and then I had my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed, which significantly reduced, though not completely eliminated, my risk of developing cancer. I am often asked how my medical decisions have affected me, and I just feel that I made decisions to improve my chances of being here to see my children grow up and meet my grandchildren. "
