Angelina Jolie says she fought Brad Pitt over Harvey Weinstein
The renowned actress commented that her ex-husband continued to work with the rapist despite knowing that he had attacked her.
Actress Angelina Jolie said that she had fought with Brad Pitt at the time of her because of his work with Harvey Weinstein, even though she had confessed to him that he tried to abuse her.
In an interview with The Guardian, the renowned actress, film director and film activist confessed that she worked with Weinstein when she was 21 years old in the film "Playing with the heart" (1998), but managed to escape the abuser.
Jolie explained that after her experience with Weinstein, she avoided working with him and warned other men and women to protect themselves from the producer.
"If you leave the room, you think she tried (to sexually assault) but did not, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault," she commented.
Weinstein was indicted in 2018 on charges of harassment, sexual abuse and rape of several women, many of them from the American film industry.
"They asked me to do 'The Aviator,' but I said no because (Weinstein) was involved. I never associated or worked with him again. It was difficult for me when Brad did it," Jolie said.
"We fought about it. Of course it hurt," she added, but the actor remained happy to be able to work with the producer despite the fact that his ex-wife had told him about the abuse he had suffered.
Pitt later starred in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film "Inglorious Bastards", a film that was co-produced by the Weinstein Company. In addition, the actor asked the rape defendant to produce his film "Killing Them Softly" in 2012.
