People crowns him for the second time
It is still George Clooney, Oscar winner for his interpretation of him in the film Syriana, the sexiest man of the year. The actor has in fact been nominated for the second time by the American weekly People "Sexiest Man Alive".
Clooney has already been at the top of the list of sexiest men in 1997. Only Brad Pitt has had a similar honor. "Brad will get jealous," Clooney joked in an interview.
Cynthia Sanz, a jury member for People, explained that Clooney, 45, was chosen for a number of factors: "At the end of last year his major films were released, he spent himself in the campaign for helping the people of Darfur, obviously he is a great handsome man: we think this time he had all the right requirements ".
But the fact that the actor is currently a bachelor also played the part of him, added Sanz: "It's a little funnier when the sexiest man is available."
The films that brought Clooney to the attention of the public and critics once again last year were Good Night and Good Luck, in which, as well as starring, he was co-writer and director, and Syriana.
The People ranking has been published every year since 1985. As in 2005, in second place is Patrick Dempsey, 40, star of the television series Grey's Anatomy. Actor, producer and star of the television series Ashton Kutcher, 28, best known for being the husband of Demi Moore, occupies the third place.
Also in the ranking is the "pirate of the Caribbean" Johnny Depp, 43, fifth, and Leonardo Di Caprio, 32, eighth. Then Jake Gyllenhaal, 25, one of the two cowboys from Secrets of Brokeback Mountain, tenth. In past years, People have crowned Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Richard Gere and Pierce Brosnan among others.
