IS BEN AFFLECK A GOOD BATMAN?
'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' hits movie screens and the actor submits to the opinion of the public.
We are not going to beg for more time and we are not going to add more "wood to the fire". Ben Affleck fulfills, and also fulfills very well in the role of Batman. The most nostalgic will never give the actor a chance in front of his always favorite Christian Bale. However, Affleck's Dark Knight has very little to do with the one in Christopher Nolan's trilogy. Regardless of who he weighs, they are two very different superheroes and Ben Affleck neither tries nor wants to inherit Bale's legacy.
The Gotham bat that we see in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is driven by hatred, rage and resentment. He is a despondent hero, a hero for whom the years do not pass in vain. He is no longer that vigilante who tries to save humanity guided by his instincts and his iron moral, now he is a vigilante who has been carried away by the past, embracing the darkness and repeatedly playing the role of villain.
Let's not fool ourselves. Years go by for Batman too. He is not an alien and he is not a demi-god of Ancient Greece. Zack Snyder's Crusader with the Cape is seasoned in saving the world, although we don't know the whole story behind it, except for the death of his parents, which has always served as a starting point to introduce the iconic DC character. .
Now, is Ben Affleck up to the task? So far we have only said that the director also correctly executes this new version of the Dark Knight, but be careful. It is true that the interpreter endures the type and even stands out very pleasantly. However, Affleck doesn't shine all the way. The reason? Secondary as well accomplished as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), although the latter has not convinced much of a good number of viewers to consider it a moderate version of the Joker.
In the sequences headed by Bruce Wayne / Batman and Clark Kent / Superman, Ben Afflek takes the reins of the action, although he does not have much merit considering the dubious acting quality of Henry Cavill.
He is still early to render a fair verdict. Surely seeing Affleck in the two installments of 'The League of Justice' and a new saga of Batman alone will help to have a more solid and argued opinion. But to Caesar what is Caesar's. Ben Affleck has done a good job in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and has not been carried away by the pressure induced by the most critical from the first moment.
