After months of negotiating with networks and streaming services, the project will be developed by Apple, which has already ordered two seasons.

In the middle of this year, it emerged that actresses Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon were working on a project: a television series set in a morning show, with both stars as leads and executive producers.

Now, after conversations with various television channels and streaming services, it is confirmed that the drama will be developed by Apple, indicated The Hollywood Reporter.

The company also confirmed two seasons, that is, 20 total chapters, focused on the story of a typical American morning show and who brings it to the screen. Part of the plot will be inspired by passages from the book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV by journalist Brian Stelter.

The series will be written and produced by Jay Carson (House of Cards), who will also act as "showrunner" or person in charge of the project.

Witherspoon and Aniston have a long friendship and will meet again on the small screen after the protagonist of Legally Blonde participated as a guest on the hit series Friends, playing one of Rachel's sisters (Aniston). The latter, in addition, will return to the television format more than a decade after the end of the popular comedy that led her to fame, and which aired its last episode in 2004.

Witherspoon, on her side, will return to TV after starring in the acclaimed HBO miniseries Big Little Lies, opposite Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley, and which won five Emmy Awards at this year's delivery, held last September.

The series of the actresses, still untitled, is the second bet of its kind announced by Apple after the remake of Amazing Stories, Steven Spielberg's series that aired in the 80s.

Last August, Apple promised an investment of one billion dollars in original content for 2018. Within its audiovisual offer they already have the Carpool Karaoke series, based on the popular segment of the program The Late Late Show with James Corden.
