Jennifer Lopez remembered what went through her mind when she did not receive an Oscar nomination for her role in the film "Hustlers."

Jennifer Lopez has opened up about how her Oscar snub from hers impacted the star.

The actress and singer received numerous nominations for her role in "Hustlers" after the film's release in late 2019. But when it came time for the 2020 Academy Awards, the 51-year-old actress was left out.

"I was talking about this the other day," Lopez told Allure on Tuesday for the March 2021 issue.

"[My production partner] Elaine [Goldsmith-Thomas] did a post listing all the things she had been nominated for and I won that season. And when it came to the Oscars, she was obviously absent. It was a sting." JLo stated.

"I was like, 'Okay, when you're supposedly on everyone else's mind, you're supposed to be nominated and you're not, what does that mean? Is it really real? Are the others real and this one isn't. ?'" She continued.

"I got to a point where I thought, 'That's not why I'm doing this. I'm not doing this to have 10 Oscars on my shelf or 20 Grammys,'" the singer-actress commented.

"Hustlers," based on the 2015 New York Magazine article titled "The Hustlers At Scores," follows a group of Manhattan strippers as they discover they can make big money by turning the tables with their wealthy Wall Street clientele.

The story has been compared to that of a "Robin Hood" tale in which women argued that they were robbing the rich and giving to the poor. "Hustlers" made more than $ 33 million in its opening weekend alone.

Jennifer Lopez won multiple major awards for her performance

Jennifer Lopez's performance earned her nominations at the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and the Critics' Choice Awards. Therefore, López was expected to be nominated for an Oscar.

"I was a little sad because there was a lot of preparation," Lopez previously told Oprah Winfrey on the talk show host's "2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus Tour" tour.

"I got so many good notices, more than ever in my career," Lopez reflected.

"And I'm reading all the articles and thinking, 'Oh my God, could this happen?' And then he didn't and it was like, 'Ouch.' It was kind of disappointing, "the artist confessed.

"Most of my team had been with me for years," Lopez said. "I think they were very hopeful about it. They wanted it to be that way, and I felt like I let everyone down a bit ... I felt that way for a moment."
