The most heartbreaking photo of Amber Heard
A UK court Friday was shown disturbing photos of actress Amber Heard’s bruised face after Johnny Depp allegedly hurled a phone at her, reports said.
The images were shown during the fourth day of Depp’s explosive London libel trial. He’s suing The Sun over a 2018 article that called him a “wife beater” based on Heard’s allegations, which he has denied.
One of the photos from 2016 shows a makeup-free Heard with red marks around her right eye.
Sasha Wass, the Sun’s lawyer, said Depp was “spoiling for a fight” when he showed up at their LA penthouse in May 2016 to pick up some of his things, the newspaper reported.
A month earlier, the “Edward Scissorhands” star said he decided to end their volatile marriage after Heard left human poop in their bed as a “prank.” He suspected that either Heard or her friend iO Tillett Wright had soiled the bed for the crude joke.
The warring couple called Wright, and Wass said Depp became enraged after hearing Heard laugh with her pal about the poop incident — and allegedly chucked the phone at her face.
“You wound your arm around like someone throwing a baseball and threw the phone and it made contact with Ms. Heard’s face,” said Wass, according to the Evening Standard.
“The phone call was still live. You said you wanted to see her face where she said she had been hit. You asked how she would like it if you pulled her hair back. Ms. Heard shouted to Mr. Tillett Wright, who was still on the call, to call 911.”
Wass said Depp then picked up a bottle of champagne and used it to smash nearby objects.
Depp, 57, denied the allegations and claimed that Heard staged the incident, yelling “stop hitting me Johnny” when she was “20 feet away,” the Sun reported.
Heard, 34, used the photos to obtain a restraining order against Depp on May 27, 2016.
The pair divorced in 2017 but have been publicly feuding ever since.
