'Don't Look Up': Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, together for the first time in this Netflix preview
The platform announces its most important films and promises a weekly premiere in 2021
Adam McKay's Netflix catastrophe comedy Don't Look Up may have a cast of tinkers featuring Meryl Streep, Chris Evans, Timothée Chalamet and other established or rising stars. But why are we kidding ourselves: the film's greatest attraction will be to see Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence together as two astronomers trying to warn humanity about I don't know what about a giant meteorite.
The platform knows this, and that is why it has included the first images of the actor from Once upon a time in Hollywood and the actress from The Hunger Games as the final icing on this preview in which he reviews 28 of his premieres for 2021.
With Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson (protagonists of the thriller Red Notice) as luxury presenters, the video offers a first look at titles such as Bruised (Halle Berry's directorial debut), The Woman in the Window ( with Amy Adams), Thunder Force (with Melissa McCarthy) and Zack Snyder's return to the zombie dimension in Army of the Dead. That, to name just a few movies.
It is clear that the success of Tyler Rake in 2020, plus the probable run of Mank and Da 5 Bloods: Blood Brothers at the Oscars has encouraged Netflix to come out on top with its film production. But this, the platform warns, is only the tip of the iceberg, because its plan is to release one feature film per week this year. Will your market absorb so much supply?
