This summer, Jennifer Lopez turns 50. To commemorate the birthday of multiple scripts on July 24, we have 50 days of J.Lo, a celebration of women who has shown us all through her example how to be eternal, inside and out.

Jennifer Lopez is the sexy red carpet fashion queen, looking forever young and sporting that fabulous honey blonde hair color. Since she ditched her naturally dark brown hair over 20 years ago, Lopez has sported different variations of a golden brown with blonde highlights for years.

But there's good news for fans of her warm hair tones - according to James Corbett, Color Clairol Director and owner of the James Corbett Studio in New York City, it's a color that would work for most skin tones.

"It's important not to go too light with the base color," he says. `` The lightness and beautiful sandy tone of J.Lo's hair comes from the color of the highlights and how they are placed over the base color of her hair. ''

Before you go in with a photo of Lopez and ask her stylist for the exact same color, keep in mind that her services should vary based on the existing base color of her hair. Now, read on to find out how you can achieve Lopez's hair color.

How can I get Jennifer Lopez's hair color?

As mentioned above, her coloring process will depend on her current hair color.

`` If someone has virgin hair on a blonde color level, they would start with cool blonde highlights and dye the rest of the hair a warm beige, dark golden blonde. '' Linda de Zeeuw, Master Stylist and Colorist at Rob Peetoom Salon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, says.

De Zeeuw adds that the steps for someone with dark hair is a totally different story. 'You would have to lift the base color to be able to achieve three shades of light with a permanent hair color, but if you need to go even lighter, we are looking for a full lightening service. After that, you can create a beautiful new dark blonde base color in combination with highlights, 'she says.

Once you've colored your hair, expect to see new growth at the root start to appear after about six weeks. Highlights, on the other hand, might have to be redone every three months, says de Zeeuw.

Corbett recommends staying within two levels of his natural hair color if he's trying to achieve a Lopez-like look.

“The lighter and further you move away from your natural hair color, the more difficult it is to radiate these unwanted copper tones [gold, orange and red]. The key is to be careful with the base color and then add highlights to get that touch and shine, '' she says.

How can I test it at home?

Both Zeeuw and Corbett recommend making an appointment if you need to change all of your base hair color, especially for results like Lopez's. But if she wants to touch up her highlights, Corbett suggests using Clairol Nice 'N Easy SB2 in Ultra Light Cool Blonde for lighter locks.

She remembers, when you're trying to stand out at home, less is more. You can take this shade and carefully isolate some strands on the face frame and elsewhere on the head, '' she says.

Corbett also adds that you need to start from the mid-shaft to the ends and process for the time indicated in the instructions. 'Be careful not to run it all over your head as this is only meant for a few strands to achieve that pop of color,' she says. 'You can always add more once you are comfortable working with isolated strands rather than a full head application.'

How do I keep my hair healthy after coloring it?

After styling your hair, de Zeeuw recommends maintaining it using a hair care line specially created for colored hair, and using a hair mask after shampooing once a week.

'To protect your color during the day, I recommend that you use a leave-in treatment with UV protector on damp hair,' she says. 'And for added care, you can book a deep conditioning hair treatment in the salon with each service.'
