Here's Why Daniel Craig Retired as James Bond
Daniel Craig decided No Time to Die (2021) to be his last film as James Bond. Since debuting as Bond in 2006, Craig has starred in five Bond films over 15 years, including Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Specter (2015), and No Time to Die. All Bond films starring Craig also proved to be great success.
In fact, Craig had originally wanted to make Specter his last Bond film. Craig admitted that he was tired of playing Bond. In fact, Craig once boasted that he would rather cut his wrist than star in the sequel Specter. Six years after Specter's release, Craig has finally revealed the reason why he was so desperate to quit at that point.
Reported by USA Today, Craig said, “When I started out as Bond at Casino Royale, I really put all my physical strength into it. I felt the need to do that because that's what I wanted my version of Bond to be. I want people to believe that I actually do dangerous stunts in movies.”
"But after starring in Specter, I felt that I couldn't be Bond anymore. I thought, 'What's the point?' Besides, filming a Bond movie kept me away from home for almost a year and it was obviously very difficult. When I call my wife and say, 'Hi, I'm injured and rushed to the hospital,' it's not a pleasant phone conversation. I feel like I can't take it anymore," Craig continued.
After having conversations with the producers of the Bond films, Craig finally agreed to star in one more film as his version of the Bond ending. Yep, No Time to Die was made as a closing film for Craig's version of Bond. Who has watched the film? Don't forget to keep following KINCIR to get various information about other films, OK!
