Incident on the set, Alec Baldwin kills a woman with a prop pistol
There was a tragic accident on the set of Alec Baldwin's next film: the actor fired a prop pistol killing director of photography Halyna Hutchins and seriously injuring director / screenwriter Joel Souza. The gun should have been loaded with blanks, and instead there were live bullets.
For the moment there have been no arrests or accusations, while the police are trying to reconstruct the facts. Meanwhile, the production of the film has been suspended indefinitely. The incident took place at Bonanza Creek Ranch, a very popular location for filming.
Often in the films real weapons are used, not replicas, but they are loaded with so-called "blanks", blank or blank bullets, which only make noise. Accidents like the one that occurred a few hours ago are extremely rare, but there are precedents. The most famous is probably the one that caused the death of Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee, in the 90s, on the set of the film The Crow. The missing actor's memorial Twitter account, managed by his sister Shannon, commented on the event with a message of condolence. There was another incident recently, with less serious consequences, during the production of the next Netflix film with Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg, in which a technician was seriously injured after a fall from almost 10 meters high.

The film in question is called Rust, and is a western set in the nineteenth century. The story, which was written by Baldwin and Souza, is about a wanted outlaw, Harland Rust, who breaks out of prison Lucas, his 13-year-old grandson sentenced to death for an accidental murder. Together, the two must escape law enforcement - specifically the legendary marshal Wold Helm and the bounty hunter Fenton "Preacher" Lang. The cast includes, in addition to Baldwin (who plays Rust), Travis Fimmel ("Preacher" Lang ), Brady Noon (Lucas), Jensen Ackles (Wood Helm). Alec Baldwin is also a producer. For the moment, the actor has not made any public statements.
