Monday, September 27, 2021, in the columns of GQ magazine, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett confided in their marriage. Determined to keep their links, they decided, after infidelities, to open up to other people ...

For several months, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been going through a difficult period. It all started on June 30, 2020. The young rapper August Alsina claimed to have had an adulterous affair with Jada Pinkett Smith. In her show Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett decided to confess everything just a few days later. On the set of this show, which regularly serves as a place to unpack the intimacy of the Smith family, she explained her perspective on monogamy during a face-to-face meeting with her husband. If the couple wanted to deal with this story for all to see, they seemed to have agreed on moving on. However, in July 2021, a source close to the couple revealed to our colleagues at People that Will Smith felt "some pressure" to forgive his wife.

This source was however optimistic about a long-term reworking. Indeed, according to the latter, "[Jada] will always be the first person to admit that marriage is hard work, but she will always love Will. Marriage is not for the faint of heart."

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett in open relationship

The couple spoke in an interview with GQ magazine, Monday, September 27, 2021. The news is good and amazing! Indeed, Will Smith was very understanding of Jada Pinkett's vision of marriage: "Jada never believed in these very conventional marriages. Several members of her entourage have unconventional relationships. So we grew up from different way ".

On the strength of these exchanges, which seemed to put them back on the same wavelength, the two spouses decided to break with monogamy. "We had endless discussions about this, he continued. But what is the perfect relationship? (...) We gave each other confidence and freedom, with the certainty that everyone must find their own. Our own path. For us, marriage couldn't be a prison. And I'm not suggesting that everyone take that path. But what this freedom has given us, and the support we give each other, to me, is the purest definition of love. "
