Jennifer Aniston reveals high school learning difficulties
Jennifer Aniston is perhaps one of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses, with several films she has played that have grossed over $ 100 million. But the Friends star didn't have the easiest times in high school. Aniston was bullied, admitting she was chubby than most of her classmates. Yet she didn’t let intimidation and isolation deter her from pursuing her dreams.
Aniston attended LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts. She credits her drama teacher for guiding her to greatness. But four years of high school as an insecure teenager has always proved difficult, despite her raw talent.
“High school was tragic,” she told People Magazine in 2016. “Just not well informed. You know, you are experimenting. It was in the 80s and I looked like a gothic nightmare. "
She also revealed in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, that she learned differently from most students. When she found out she had dyslexia, it all made more sense. Aniston learned of her diagnosis during a routine eye exam. She was tested to read a paragraph, and she didn't do it so well. Fortunately, she learned of the diagnosis.
She didn't think she was the most attractive thing either. Aniston was shocked that she was voted "the prettiest" by People magazine in 2016. "I wasn't going for the prettiest," she adds. "It was, how can I be the most rebelliously unattractive? She learned to love her look in her late twenties. “Oh, that was more of the '90s mom jean look,” she laughs. “Big blousy blouses with a big belt. And do you remember the western cowboy shoe? I thought I was cool. "
Now she says she's learned to look at real beauty in herself. Beauty is "really learning to love every thing about yourself," she says. "And also realizing that it's not just about clothes and what's going on [on the outside]. "
