The conductor Rodrigo de Souza (Gael García Bernal) decides to accept a new challenge in his career: directing the opera singer Alessandra (Bellucci) in her long-awaited return to the stage in Venice.
In Mozart in the Jungle, the 38-year-old Mexican star plays Rodrigo de Souza, inspired by the Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, who assumes the leadership of the New York Symphony Orchestra.
The series - based on the book Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs and Classical Music by Blair Tindall - received a Golden Globe nomination for best TV comedy on Monday, an award it won last year.
