Original Sin, Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas really had sex on set?
Tonight on Iris airs Original Sin, a 2001 romantic film that made history not only for Angelina Jolie’s two Razzie Awards nominations, but also for rumors about a alleged sexual intercourse between the actress and Antonio Banders on the set.
It all started with some statements from regista Michael Cristofer, who in various interviews and in the commentary on the DVD film said that Jolie said she would shoot the sex scene in question only if she was entirely naked and without any protection for the private parts. Apparently, after talking with his colleague, Banderas – at the time married to a jealous Melania Griffith – also agreed to shoot the scene naked, and so shooting began in the presence of the director and a few other members of the crew.
From there, rumors began to circulate that the two actors not only simulated a relationship, but actually had sex in front of the cameras. In 2021, however, these rumors have not yet found any confirmation, and the only one who might know the truth is the director, as he revealed that he kept footage never shown to viewers.
