THE 10 LESSONS SELENA GOMEZ WANTS TO GIVE TO ALL THE GIRLS IN THE WORLD
We hadn't heard from Selena Gomez in a long time. At least, not as good as you are ... We had seen her return from her rehabilitation stage still marked by experience, and also regain the illusion with The Weeknd (that is a couple and the rest is nonsense). But we were still waiting for statements like these.
The singer has given a beautiful interview to InStyle magazine and has left us all stunned. Nobody would say that Selena just turned 25, because listening to her, it would seem that she has already obtained the master of life in which many of us still have to work.
And it is that her words have not only served to inform us about what happened in her life in recent months and to leave us very calm ... but also, and above all, to send an empowering (and feminist, of course) message to the world. That is why we have listened to her very well and we have caught all the little pills that she has thrown to help all the girls in the world. Very attentive:
1. On childhood: "I think it is really dysfunctional to be in this industry when you are so young and you are still finding who you are ... I do not recommend it."
2. About time: “Sometimes I feel like numbers don't exist… some days I seem to be 15 years old and others 40. It's weird, but things can change a lot in a very short time and on the contrary… Last year I canceled my tour for 90 days and it was the best thing I could have done ”.
3. On the importance of things: “When I was in therapy I didn't have a cell phone or anything, but it was great. Everything that worried me stopped and I moved on ”.
4. On the image: “During those months I was in the field and I never combed my hair… so what? It helped me feel stronger in front of others ”.
5. On love and relationships: “You have to make sure that your life does not depend only on one person. It is important to me to take care of my family and my friends and I want to make sure that I never change that for an uncle. Before I was very young and influential, and I felt insecure ... Now I want someone who contributes something to my life, not complete me. I'm lucky because now I'm with someone who is more of a better friend than anything else. "
6. On the decisions themselves: “When I left, they asked me to go to the AMAs and everyone around me said: 'Do what makes you feel most comfortable' ... And I decided to go, it was hard and I was nervous, but it was my decision ”.
7. On NOT being ashamed: “I still go to therapy some days… both going and telling my experience lets me know where I am. When I came out and told it, it was because I didn't want my fans to have a negative view of taking care of themselves. It's something good".
8. On saying NO: “I have learned the power of saying no. I feel stronger when I say it. I was recently working with the folks at my record label, and I looked at the table and said, 'I respect your opinions, but you're going to let me take the last step. Give me a few days to meditate on it ”.
9. On mistakes: “Now I'm not afraid to make mistakes. Because I like to think that I can handle it… You don't have to fear making mistakes because that's how you will get ahead in what you do ”.
10. On ambition: “I am ambitious in every area of my life. I want to be a better daughter, a better friend, a better influence… But I want to feel everything I do, so I try to be without obsessing over it ”.
