Fame has two faces, one in which all the glamor and affection of the public is shown, and another in which privacy is practically non-existent.
Being a celebrity means being constantly exposed to public scrutiny and being the target of fierce photographers who are willing to go overboard in order to get an image that they could sell for high amounts of money.
Like any human being, on many occasions we have seen how some stars lose patience when seeing that the paparazzi are capable of violating their privacy in order to portray them and that is when violent confrontations occur and in cases even tragic.
This week, actresses Halle Berry and Jennifer Gardner testified in court in favor of a bill that seeks to prevent paparazzi from photographing the children of stars without the consent of their parents.
If this law is passed, many incidents between stars and photographers could be avoided, but while we wait for this legislation to take effect, we wanted to review 5 of the worst encounters between celebrities and paparazzi.
Britney Spears:
Not long ago, Britney Spears was one of the stars most hunted by the paparazzi thanks to her rebellious years, her early motherhood and her party habits. In 2007 the singer's life got completely out of control to the point that in a fit of madness, Spears decided to shave her head in a beauty salon. Her erratic behavior led Kevin Federline, who was her husband at the time, to request custody of her two children. After a long conversation at the house of her ex-husband, Britney she left enraged and her anger grew even more when she saw the dozen photographers who were waiting for her on the street. The Toxic interpreter could not control her temper and unexpectedly she began to hit with an umbrella the car of one of the paparazzi who was trying to document the moment. Incident photographs traveled the world and in this way we all realized that Spears was no longer an innocent child.
Bjork:
This Icelandic singer has not become famous for being predictable or ordinary, but after an unforgettable encounter with the press in 1996 we are sure that photographers will think twice before risking portraying her. During her arrival in Thailand, her Bjork seemed to be quite overwhelmed especially since she was accompanied by her 9-year-old son and apparently meeting photographers at the airport was something that Hunter's interpreter could not bear. After a reporter welcomed her to this Asian country, the singer lost control of her, jumped on top of the journalist and began to beat her savagely. Representatives for Bjork later claimed that the reporter in question had been harassing the singer for weeks.
Kanye West:
In 2008, Kim Kardashian's boyfriend had a visit to the Los Angeles airport that he will never forget. When a photographer tried to capture his arrival, Kanye West lunged at him and they began to struggle until finally the rapper was able to take the camera from him and throw it hard on the ground to destroy it. For the incident, the rapper had to face charges of vandalism and violent conduct so we already know clearly why he has decided not to present his daughter North West to the media.
Justin Bieber:
Last year, Justin Bieber had a strange incident with a paparazzi in which an ambulance had to arrive to attend to the photographer who was injured after this situation. On his part, the singer lost a shoe and also his cap in this violent confrontation in which Selena Gómez had to intervene to calm the situation. Bieber may still have the face of a good boy, but after this incident it became clear to us that he is already a man and that he is not afraid to defend himself when he tries to invade his privacy.
Jude Law:
This English heartthrob may appear to be a gentleman, but the truth is that Jude Law once hit a woman in the face who was trying to photograph him while he was dining at a restaurant in London. Although the actor tried to defend himself against her claiming that he simply raised her hand and the photographer's face was pierced, the incident was strongly criticized by British tabloids in which the victim accused the heartthrob of deliberately hitting her.
