Who are invited to the wedding of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin?
When George Clooney marries his fiancee, Amal Alamuddin, in the magical city of Venice, everyone expects the guest list to match the end credits of a Hollywood blockbuster. And although the final list of attendees has been kept completely secretive, some of the big names that are said to have already received an invitation are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (who recently married in France), U2 frontman Bono and the co-stars. by George, Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts.
The actor's "The Big Scam" co-star Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, are also expected to attend the wedding. As well as George's best friend and partner, Rander Gerber, (who was recently seen transporting entire cases of tequila to Italy, apparently for the wedding) and his wife, Cindy Crawford. Ellen Barkin, who is said to have thrown a party for Amal a couple of weeks ago, will also be in on the festivities.
According to reports in the United States, George and Amal have only sent 60 invitations, including the bride's family. The lawyer's younger sister, Tala, has been chosen as the godmother of honor, while Rande, George's friend, is the favorite to be the "best man".
The couple had originally considered holding the ceremony at Highclere Castle (home to the Dowton Abbey series) or George's luxurious villa on Lake Como. However, they ultimately settled on Venice. George (53 years old) and the beautiful human rights lawyer (36) were seen last month having dinner in the romantic city where they first met. The couple are believed to host a dinner for their guests at the exclusive Hotel Cipriani the night before their anticipated wedding.
