Jennifer Aniston Reflects on the Movie That Introduced Jennifer Aniston to the World: ‘Leprechaun’
Like many famous actors who are now household names, Jennifer Aniston got her start in horror. Just one year before the premiere of “Friends,” Aniston starred in 1993’s Leprechaun, a horror-comedy classic that birthed a still-running franchise that the actress never returned to. Her character kinda-sorta did return in last year’s Leprechaun Returns, however, thanks to a voice actor doing her best Jennifer Aniston impersonation. Is that even legal? In any event…
Chatting with Howard Stern this week (brought to our attention by Yahoo) Aniston reflected on her first major movie role. “I really thought I arrived when I did Leprechaun,” she told Stern.
Aniston continued, “It was with Warwick Davis, the guy from Willow was in it. It was a big deal! I really did think it was an amazing thing that I was in a movie.”
As Aniston revealed to Stern, she most recently revisited Leprechaun around eight years ago, when then-boyfriend Justin Theroux insisted upon watching it one night.
“I watched it like, 8 years ago with our mutual friend Justin Theroux for shits and giggles,” she explained. “We were dating. It was one of those things when I tried to get that remote out of his hand and there was just no having it. He was like, ‘No, no, no, no, this is happening.’”
“I just kept walking in and out, cringing.”
