Monica Bellucci, just being attractive is not enough
The Italian Monica Bellucci said today that since she is almost 53 years old and she continues to work as an actress but she warned between ironic and captivating: "I think it's not just about beauty."

"Beauty lasts only five minutes. If there is nothing behind it, nothing will happen," said the actress at a press conference. In her opinion, the fact that more and more older actresses are active is due to the fact that, as in any other job, "women respect each other more and therefore they respect us more." Today women "feel freer. We have more courage to speak up and say what we want to say." Asked about when she felt like a movie star, she replied that "the only person in the world who makes you feel like a star is your mother."
Reviewing her roles in the cinema throughout her career, among them that of "Malena", by Giuseppe Tornatore, she commented that "the duality between poverty and violence has always been part of my career. And I don't know well why ".
Bellucci stressed the importance of art, because "it represents freedom. In countries where there is no freedom, the first thing they try to stop is art, but no one can stop art." She recalled that during the Second World War, in Italy "creativity was incredible, because through art we can express all the suffering we have."
The other two Donostia awards given at the festival went to the Argentine actor Ricardo Darín and to the Franco-Belgian director Agnes Varda.
