MOTHER !, JENNIFER LAWRENCE'S NEW MOVIE IS THE WORST OF HER CAREER
Thus, at least, it is clear from what those who have seen it have told
Darren Aronofsky's new film, Mother !, opens on September 29 in Spain but there are already those who have been able to 'enjoy' the misadventures of the characters played by Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem.
And we write enjoy in quotes because the critics who have delivered their verdict have been anything but benevolent.
It has so little liked that in the United States the film has entered directly into the group of feature films that are scored with an F. That, in academic terms, would be practically zero.
According to the Rotten Tomatoes website, critics give it slightly less than 65% in their reviews, which is not bad, but it is very far from the 90% acceptance of Black Swan or 80% of Noah, which must be remembered which is one of his 'worst' movies.
The problem comes when you look at the individual reviews, that's when the real party for Mother begins!
The New York Observer reviews the film like this: "I doubt whether to officially declare it the worst movie of the year when the worst movie of the century is much better."
We have not yet been able to taste this movie that some, the sympathizers, have already described as a mix between The Exterminating Angel by Luis Buñuel, La Semilla del Diablo and Antichrist.
The truth is that the contrast between the opinion of one and the other and the furious reviews that it has garnered cannot but increase the hype of what will surely be a film that will not leave anyone indifferent (and in which we return to see a Michelle Pfeiffer on fire).
