Salma Hayek details the uncomfortable scene she had to record in "Desperado"
Salma Hayek detailed on the Armchair Expert podcast that she felt very uncomfortable trying to record a sex scene with actor Antonio Banderas
Salma Hayek has detailed one of the most traumatic experiences she has ever had on film sets. It is a sex scene that she had to perform in Desperado (1995), an American film that is part of the "Trilogy of Mexico."
In this film the actress played Carolina, the main role in this film directed by Robert Rodríguez.
On the Armchair Expert podcast, Hayek stated that it was a surprise for her to realize that the sex scene was not mentioned in the script of the film, so at that point everything became very uncomfortable.
This part had to be recorded with the prominent actor Antonio Banderas and to feel calmer she asked Rodríguez for a closed set and also the producer Elizabeth Avellán, who were very close to her at that time.
However, even so, the actress continued to feel uncomfortable:
"So when we were going to start, I started sobbing," Hayek explained, adding that she kept telling others, "I don't know if I can do it."
On the other hand, the actress commented that Banderas, who already had more experience in recordings of this type, was one of her main fears:
«One of the things she feared was Antonio, he was an absolute gentleman and very kind, and we are still very close friends, but he was very free. It scared me that for him, this was nothing "
Hayek's despair was so great that she commented that she began to cry, and Banderas did not know what to do:
“He said to me,‘ My God. You're making me feel really bad '. And he was so embarrassed that he was crying, "recalled the actress.
Despite all the fears, Salma Hayek made the scene and was able to do it without pressure. In fact, she assured that everyone was very understanding that moment, especially the director and Antonio Banderas.
In fact, the filmmaker and the actor were trying to make her laugh so that she could be calmer in that minute.
