Without a doubt, the Hadid sisters are considered two of the fashion models of the moment. Born just 18 months apart, Gigi Hadid has risen to the top by earning the title of "International Model of the Year." The recognition she received last Monday at the Royal Albert Hall in New York. The 21-year-old model has outgrown her little sister, 20.
And as a victorious sister she posed on the red carpet in a shiny silver jumpsuit. The model appeared accompanied by her sister Bella hers and her mother Yolanda, a 52-year-old ex-model. All three could represent one of the most beautiful families in history.
This award is not in the only area where Gigi outperforms her little sister. The explosive blonde has 26.4 million followers on Instagram compared to 8.4 million for Bella. In addition, Gigi is much more sought after by the paparazzi due to her relationship with singer Zayn Malik, the former member of the British band "One Direction", and her close friendship with pop singer Taylor Swift.
Along with her younger brother Anwar, 17 (who is making her first modeling appearances), the sisters grew up in Los Angeles. His father, Mohamed, is a Palestinian property developer who works in Tunisia, Syria and Greece before moving permanently to the United States. He married Yolanda van den Herik, a Dutch-born model in 1994. Gigi was born just a year later.
The couple divorced in 2000, but the family stayed together. Her mother Yolanda is known for participating in the American show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
