This photo of Miley Cyrus is causing controversy for many reasons, the first is due to an alleged plagiarism, the second because of the phrase it contains and the third because it anticipates a long-awaited collaboration.
Officially Miley Cyrus is back to her old ways. This Tuesday Miley Cyrus announced the collaboration of her Happy Hippie Foundation association with Planned Parenthood (an organization that provides reproductive health services in the United States and in the world) and the Marc Jacobs haute couture house. And obviously the singer made this project known in the coolest way possible. Miley posted a photo of her licking a cake with the caption “ABORTION IS HEALTHCARE” on her official Instagram account, which has sparked reactions of all kinds.
But perhaps the most scandalous is that of Becca Rea-Holloway, also known as The Sweet Feminist, who accused Cyrus of stealing her design. “It is a direct theft of my own original artwork from May 2018, no credit. It is literally my exact writing, message and concept ”.
Quickly the interpreter of “Ella She Is Coming” apologized for the confusion in the comments of the image: “Hello, we saw the image online and we did not realize that she was yours. We will absolutely tag you for your work. This image is not on the Marc Jacobs x Planned Parenthood hoodie we made to raise funds and awareness for Planned Parenthood, which I know is close to your heart as well. It's on the post only and not the merchandise, but we'll tag you and give you credit for your art. If you can correct your post, we'll make sure you get all the credit it deserves… thank you for sharing your art and inspiring us. ”
Unfortunately, Cyrus' attempted resolution was not well received. While Rea-Holloway acknowledged that she is happy that Miley is working with Planned Parenthood, she does not intend to forgive the 26-year-old celebrity. “This was not an oversight, it was blatantly and intentionally negligent and misleading. I would have loved to work with you on a collaboration for this project, but instead my work was copied without compensation. "
