It was around 9 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 in Houston, Texas, that the tragedy occurred. For the third edition of the Astroworld Festival held in Travis Scott's hometown, 50,000 people were gathered to enjoy the concert, when a movement of full force sowed panic. Several spectators then collapsed. If some people, panicked, immediately helped the victims, others rushed to the front of the stage to better see the concert.
The concert continues as people die in the crowd and rescue workers struggle to find their way. In total, 8 dead, including two minors aged 14 and 16, and nearly 300 people were injured. In addition, 25 victims were taken to hospital, and 13 were still there on Sunday, November 7.
How could a simple crowd move turn into a drama?
For the moment the investigation is still in progress, and the multiple testimonies are sometimes confused, so much the participants remain shocked and traumatized by what they were able to live during this evening. Houston police then advance two leads. According to several witnesses, people were pricked with a syringe, which would have created the crowd movement. The second track concerns the organization of the festival, which was "catastrophic".

The 600 security officers were completely overwhelmed by the number of spectators present, who jostled to get the best possible seats. They were too few to channel the crowd. Several spectators also evoke an "unhealthy" atmosphere during the concert of Kylie Jenner's boyfriend, with several fights.
Why is Travis Scott implicated?
Several complaints were lodged against the American rapper Travis Scott, organizer of the concert for having "wreaked havoc".
