Billie Eilish loses 100,000 followers on Instagram for this photo
She was just a kid when the music world laid eyes on her - she was 13 at the time her iconic song Ocean Eyes put her in the spotlight and another year when she released the music video. Since then, the singer has always opted for baggy and oversized clothing, which made her feel more comfortable.
Six years and several Grammy Awards under her belt later, the Bad Guy interpreter continues to explore and search for her style, which has led her to vary between this wide look and increasingly tight garments or more feminine outfits, which for many of his followers has been a shock.
Some of her fans have not supported her in the decision to change her way of dressing because last July Eilish lost thousands of 'followers' for sharing an image on Instagram in which she wore a Miaou brand corset on which it stood out a lace bra. "I lost 100,000 followers, just because of my boobs. People are scared of big boobs," she revealed incredulously in an interview with Elle collected by Cosmopolitan.
"People cling to these memories [of his broad style] and have attachment. But it is very dehumanizing," he considers, as he received comments from people calling it "false" and accusations that "the industry has really changed you." The 19-year-old, surprised by receiving this type of criticism from her fans, points out that at her age is when most people discover her true identity, which she continues to find out day by day .
In this sense, Eilish also criticizes the machismo that surrounds female artists, whom she is judged on by her appearance and on which she is even commented on her sexual orientation. Billie has already experienced both: "As if that were anyone else's business," she says, making it clear that she is not.
The worst thing is that it is not the first time that something like this has happened to her, because a few days before the end of 2020, the same number of people stopped following her this time. The reason? She uploaded to her stories a drawing that she had made of a woman's breasts.
