Britney Spears gives birth to her first child
Britney became a mum at the age of 24, giving birth to Sean on 14 September 2005 and Jayden a year later on 12 September 2006.
The American singer Britney Spears, known as the princess of pop, gave birth to her first child yesterday in a hospital in Los Angeles, California. As reported by US Weekly magazine on its website, the delivery, which was by cesarean section, occurred in the early afternoon yesterday at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica. The actress had already declared her intention to undergo a cesarean section, so as not to have to suffer the pain of a natural childbirth. The magazine specified that Spears had contractions from day 9.
The magazine states that the 24-year-old artist was taken to the hospital in the morning, escorted by the police and accompanied by her husband, the 27-year-old dancer Kevin Federline. The singer, who became famous when she was only 16 years old, got married in September last year. Her husband already has two other children with her former partner, actress Shar Jackson.
Last April, Spears announced on her website her pregnancy with an enthusiastic statement: "It is time to share the wonderful news that we are expecting our first child together." The singer became famous around the world in the late 1990s with her album Baby One More Time. Since then, she has sold more than 60 million records.
